Welcome to the
Blue Ribbon Army

Blue Ribbon Army Membership Rules

  1. Play nice! We accept everyone as they are! Therefore there are no personal attacks, fandom shaming/attacking, cosplay shaming/attacking, body shaming, sexism, homophobia, trans-phobia, or racism. In other words, don't be a dick. Failure to follow these guidelines can lead to a warning, a review by our membership board, and (worst case scenario) removal from the club.

  2. In the outside world, you will find plenty of places to discuss hot button issues like politics, religion, and heated current events. Our club is not the place for that. We are here to have a good time and celebrate everything that makes us geeks.

  3. While this may be a safe place to be yourself, we are also a fairly rowdy group from time to time. Suggestive humor, swearing, and the dankest of memes are things that are seen often. However, we understand that some things cross the line and leadership will review anything that you might feel is too inappropriate (this is not a guarantee that we will rule in your favor).

  4. We here at BRA like to follow many conventions' policy of Cosplay is Not Consent. Please refer to their take on it here for more details.

  5. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated in our Facebook group or at our events. This includes, but is not limited, to verbal, physical, or sexual harassment. If you find yourself harassed, please speak to our Member Relations Committee immediately.

  6. Fundraising: We fundraise as a group through out the year for different organizations. While participation is not mandatory, we encourage all of our members to be a force for good whenever they can.

  7. We are NOT a Spoiler Free Group, but we do have fairly strict guidelines regarding them (online and in person). They are as follows:

Movies: One week after Blu-Ray/Digital release
TV: Two weeks after season ends
Original Streaming Series: Six months after premiere
    Fiction/Comic Books: Trade paperback release
(Only exception is if the book has currently been adapted to a television series. Best keep quiet in this case)
Video games: Six months from the time the game is released. Now what we are referring to is plot points more than features and the like. Basically if you can find the info in the instruction booklet or in standard gaming articles, you should be fine.
Box subscriptions: 1 week from when you get it
    Sporting Events: 24 hours

  8. All members must be 18 or older

  9. If I decide to change my mind about being a member after I have paid, can I get a refund?
We understand if you decide to change your mind and will issue refunds up until the point that member benefits are shipped. After product is sent to you, there are no refunds.
